How long will this project last?
The design phase is scheduled to begin Late Summer 2009. Construction is set to begin in Spring 2010. The project is scheduled for completion in early Spring 2012.
What new features can I anticipate on I-15?
A widened freeway, new auxiliary roads that will help traffic flow on the freeway, redesigned interchanges, 26 new bridge sections, 35 new retaining walls and 1.5 new miles of sound wall(s).
What is design-build? How is this delivery method beneficial?
“Design-build” is a system that is used in developing projects that reduces the project schedule by overlapping the design phase and construction phase of a project. What does this mean for you? It means you’ll be driving on a new and improved I-15 much faster than you would a typical construction project of this magnitude.

Who is working on this project?
The contractor chosen for this project is a team led by Las Vegas Paving Corporation.
How much will the project cost?
The cost of the project is $246 million.
How is the project funded?
The I-15 South Design-Build project is funded through Assembly Bill 595 which includes funds diverted from room tax revenue and bonded through the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
